Award winning songwriter, Tiffany Eckhardt has written and recorded ten successful independent releases. As a songwriter and performer, she has been adopted by the folk/roots, festival scene in Australia as a firm favourite, receiving rave reviews and radio airplay across the country. In recent years Tiffany has also been directing choirs, teaching, and facilitating community music. She has also returned to university to study song writing, Tiffany’s new album 'FOUND' is just about to hit the airwaves. Here are some words about the new album,
'…5 years ago, we moved to Southern Tasmania and now live in the Huon Valley on a small farm. It is a very beautiful part of the world and I can now say I feel very blessed to live here, though for the first couple of years, I was very homesick. The songs on this album have been written over the past 2 years and are about this journey of change, some sadness, but a lot of joy too, a reflection and celebration of finding ourselves and our feet in this new land. My songs are greatly influenced by my love of the natural environment, my interest in the human spirit, my family and also my furry and feathered animal friends (of which we have many!) . Events in the wider world have crept into this album too… The band on this album includes my husband, guitarist -Dave Steel, multi-instrumentalist, Ross Smithard, and fellow songwriter and piano player, Anne Toner. It has been such a pleasure working with these guys and we can’t wait to get out there and do some shows together...'
Tiffany and Band have recently returned from touring Victoria and a string of festivals around the country including Port Fairy Folk Festival (Vic 2019), the National Folk Festival (ACT 2019) Cygnet Folk Festival (2019 Tas) and Wintermoon Festival (Qld 2019). Tiffany will stay close to home for the rest of 2019 playing gigs around Tasmania, and is working on new songs for her next project which she plans to start recording in 2020.
